1) Why can't I find the original Bug Report thread?
2) Who is in charge of re-pinning the WAYLT2 thread?
2. I don't know how it became unpinned! Any mod can pin or unpin a thread (but we try to work in consensus on pinning threads). I just pinned it back because I think that must have been a mistake.
Thanks!

It also happened a few months ago, but Que pinned it back.
Especially on mobile, the moderator buttons are very close to other buttons. I've accidentally toggled moderating options just while scrolling down the page. We definitely appreciate the alert if we have accidentally moderated something ;D

Yes, scrolling on the phone, I've nearly reported countless posts to moderators. :D It is right in my finger's natural swiping path. 8)
Not a bug, but the site was not to be reached for me most of the day. The server did give me a fault message.

I had the same problem. Was the site under maintenance?
Apparently the problem was due to the board being momentarily oversaturated with British music, but it's all fixed now, and we can all continue discussing our favourite composers with no restrictions. ;D

Apologies for GMG being down. Due to forces beyond my control. My entire hosting provider was down, first time in many years. They probably have a lot of very angry customers.

I prefer the words "elevated" and "enlightened" and "transfigured" rather than "over-saturated" with regards to British Music.......... ;)!!!!

I, of course, second these wise words...

I've put some Portuguese music on this morning (Freitas Branco) to help alleviate the problem ;D
ASIN pictures are still not visible and there are quite a number of old posts featuring them. Any developments on that front?
I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Yesterday, I was trying to add an image to a post of Vaughan Williams and his favorite cat Foxy and somehow or another I added it in twice (initially, it didn't like the format of my picture, so I had to find another version of it). I just clicked on it to modify it, but not certain what to delete and where I went wrong initially.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
PD
@Pohjolas Daughter Attach the file but don't insert it. If you do insert it, it will appear in both the body and the attachment portion of the post. AFAIK there's no way to have the image in the post without the duplicate attachment below. You'd have to link an image outside GMG and not use attachments
As a contrast, with image inserted.
BTW it's what I use as the wallpaper/lock screen of my phone.img_1_1679883814341.jpg

Nice pic!
Nothing major, just a weird one:
When I click on "Unread posts" then go and see the new post in the Purchases thread, if this new post happens to be the last #20 at the bottom of a page, the new post will appear as per attached, showing me a blank top on the next page. For instance,
@vandermolen has just posted a Rachmaninov purchase at the bottom of page 1702 and I got the attached via Unread posts instead.
This has occurred to me a few times before but bizarrely only in the Purchases thread.
PS: not singling out Jeffrey on this one :D it has happened with other users' posts too.

I just tried it and had the same result. Wonder whether or not it might have something to do with the thread getting too long?

Sorry, but not too sure what to do Olivier.

Confirmed, I had this problem too. Purchase thread indeed!

You just need to stop buying music Jeffrey! :) The gods and the forum (and perhaps your wife) are against you.

Well since the listening is much, much, much longer I don't think it is the length. I've seen that odd bug from time to time. When a poster posts it gets fixed as in this case when Florestan posted. I don't really think it is anything to worry about imo. :)

@ vandermolen Are you still throwing purchases through the window? :)

Not a bug, but until today I hadn't been able to reach the site since an internet outage several weeks ago - at least, not from home. My browser reported that it couldn't find the site. Apparently my ISP's routing tables were messed up. I first got back in today from work, and then now from home I'm once again able to reach the forum.
Weird how these things happen. Until I tried from work today on a whim, I had assumed that the site had closed down for some reason!

Weird indeed. But good to have you back!
I had a similar message yesterday afternoon as well but it only lasted a couple of minutes (UK, Opera browser, with cleared cookies/history)
Welcome back! I remember having that same issue a few years ago - something to do with the cache, that my computer was assuming it would not be able to access the site, so it didn't even try.
Interesting, I didn't know that caches could cause problems.
The only thing that I noted recently was that one day I was having problems posting; the computer was really slow to either post or go to certain threads for me.

I didn't mention this, but I also tried nslookup on good-music-guide.com and got an error message, which means my ISP's DNS server couldn't resolve the address. That tells me it had to be something in their routing tables.
The site keeps having problems for me loading pages--intermittently slow or not at all, since late afternoon US East Coast time (say, for the last 4 or 5 hours).
Same here. Right now I'm experiencing some trouble to load pages.
Same here. Don't know what it's due to.

Didn't have any issues here.
Must be the sordid lives you lead. Eh, wot?? ;D :P
I'm a newbie and I might be doing something wrong, but I think I've found something not working quite well in the search function. Advanced excuses if this is not the right thread to comment this.
I went to Music Room> Composer Discussion > Viva Vivaldi (topic)
Once in the thread I went to the top right and typed Biondi to search his mentions within the "this topic" window. It displayed a lot of messages arranged in 7 pages (or 6 pages, tried this several times with different results). I read the first one and when trying to keep reading results, there's no way that it shows any message on page 2 or any other. Clicking on the arrow to go to next page doesn't work either.
There has been a lot of discussion of this, I'm not sure where, some of it is in the "The GMG "How to...?" thread".
The short answer is, as I remember it, that searching "this topic" doesn't work.
Thanks for the reply. It's a pity it doesn't work well

Yeah people have been complaining about it for many years now! I think we all find it frustrating.
Very annoying day, today, not being able to load images via mobile to accompany WAYLT posts.
Hmph.

It's an inherent bug in the software. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it until the software is updated.
This big report thread is now closed. Please use the Bug Report 2024 for any new issues.
