This is very specific. Only 7 years away from nanobots living inside us and keeping us alive forever!

I'd be worried if I thought it was possible, in 700 years. Best case scenario, in 7 years they come up with nanobots that will kill all billionaires on earth.

IIRC Kurzweil* claimed a lot of futurist stuff already in the 1990s and was generally wrong. I am certain I read lots of nanotech predictions in the mid-1990s in a book (not by him) probably a few years old by then and I am also pretty sure that their projections were far more optimist than what actually happened.

* This name is funny because it literally means "short while" and the compound word means in old fashioned usage also something like merrymaking, revelry, i.e. having fun to make the time pass more quickly. "kurzweilig" (entertaining) is still quite common.

I forgot all about Kurzweil!

Also, the article reminded me of The Makropulos Affair, written by Karel Capek. The music for opera was composed by Janacek. The protagonist "suffers" a torturous, long life. Several philosophers discussed if immortality is desirable.
Also, I wonder if time will still exist when humans have eternal life (Immanuel Kant will say no). Plus, there will be infinite choices and chances. Will human actions and mathematics have meanings?

Manabu, thanks for reminding me that it's high time I listened to that opera!

Wow!  :o

Ironically, I was given a dozen really fresh organically raised eggs (raised by a local farmer) when I had dinner at a friend's house recently.  They would have cost me $6 (which is a fair bit less than I would have paid for them in a store).  The egg giver knew how much I loved and appreciated really fresh and good quality eggs.  All different colors and with lovely orange-golden yolks.

I must admit, the combo of ramen noodles with the above sounds disgusting to me (but what do I know).  Haven't had them for a while, but I liked ramen noodles with various flavoring packets (would be even better with some fresh veggies and some sort of protein in it), but with the above flavorings?  :o

I agree. The flavor sounds creepy and disgusting. But so were Dr. Pepper, Pizzas, Sushi, canned meat, etc when they were introduced for the first time.
