"A Song for You" is a song written and originally recorded by rock singer and pianist Leon Russell for his first solo album Leon Russell, which was released in 1970 on Shelter Records. A slow, pained plea for forgiveness and understanding from an estranged lover, the tune is one of Russell's best-known compositions.

This song is dedicated to all Dads, past and present!
Happy Father's Day to all loving and understanding fathers of our world!!!
Peace and love!!!

I happen to have this song on a Dutch compilation CD I bough on eBay for Carly Simon's "It's Hard To Be Tender."

There is a joke about Finnish men: "Look woman, I told you I love you when we got married. I'll let you know if I change my mind."  ;D

Hi 71 dB,
Your comment about Finnish men is very funny.
There is probably truth to that as well.
I actually feel the same way.  Marrying somebody speaks volume!!!
Really funny!!!

I need to listed to Carly Simon's version of this beautiful song!!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments.
Respectfully,
Rene

Well, I am glad you found it funny. People from other countries tend to find many Finnish idiosyncrasies curious, odd and funny. Things like silence and lack of small talk until you end up in a sauna where Finns can be very talkative to strangers when everybody are naked!  :)

It was produced for the TV mini-series "Sins" in the late 80's. Back then I was sleeping radio on and they played this song. It entered my dream. The song has been important for me ever since. Ironically it took me over 30 years from those days to get into Carly Simon.

No problem Rene.  $:)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

The song was very popular with one of my friends when I was at university in the mid 1970s.
"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).

"How Deep Is Your Love" is a pop ballad written and recorded by the Bee Gees in 1977.  The song was used as part of the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever.

This classic is dedicated to peoples who want to fall deeper in love.
Love and learn, and know that this world tends to tempt us into seemingly greener pastures, but know that love is the greatest of all.
More importantly, do not be afraid of what the world is turning into, live it and turn to love for growth and prosperity, and peace!!!!

America is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1970.  America is Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley and Dan Peek, sons of US Air Force personnel stationed in London.

The song's title refers to the Tin Woodman from The Wizard of Oz. Songwriter Dewey Bunnell was quoted describing the parallel: "My favorite movie, I guess. I always loved it as a kid. Very obscure lyrics. Great grammar - 'Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man.' It's sort of a poetic license.

This song is for all innocent and simple people of our world.  May their joy and appreciation for life spread like wildfire, and promote happiness and hope in all peoples.

Dedicated to the promotion of truth!!!
Fake news might be driven by power and greed, but honesty and civility always surface to the top.

For all our innocent children.
May we be like the little children.
No malice, no greed, simply human!!!

America is the debut studio album by America, released in 1971. It was initially released without "A Horse with No Name", which was released as a single in late 1971. When "A Horse with No Name" became a worldwide hit in early 1972, the album was re-released with that track.

The album went to No. 1 on the Billboard album chart in the United States and stayed there for five weeks.
Sandman is the second track in that album, "Sandman" (long-rumored to be about the United States Navy VQ-2 air squadron formerly based in Rota, Spain).

This song is dedicated to all our Airmen and Flyers of the US Navy.
For their bravery and commitment to our freedom and democracy!!!
