This is in the Rampal Sony box. I expected to dislike it; I'm mainly a fan of old school "straight ahead" jazz--perhaps "pre-Trane" would sum me up. But this is quite charming.

If you're in the mood for more, there's a whole series he did, including a second CD with Rampal which I assume is also in that box

Cool! Let's compare notes afterward. There's another stream that same night (Cincinnati SO), but I'm pretty sure they will archive that one, and don't know about Detroit. PS, the DSO is sounding great these days. I'm thinking a trip out there may be a good idea, perhaps for something next season.
