Title: "US Armed Forces employ more bandsmen than in the US Secret Services"
Post by: False_Dmitry on August 25, 2010, 02:27:15 PM
A Washington Post report listing the numbers of military musicians within the US Armed Services.

US citizens will be reassured to hear their country's defence lies in the hands of outfits like "The Singing Sergeants", "Country Current" and "The Navy Show Band".

Actually, I heard the The Singing Sergeants perform.  They were so-so, in my books.  I am sure we will also see some other military groups perform when we take in the the Navy at Air Force football game in October. :)

Distorted article I think, from someone who hasn't even bothered to check on the schedules of these groups or see what they do and how they do it. Nor has he investigated whether any of these groups bring in revenues or participate in shows that bring in revenue.  Really shoddy journalism in my opinion - just trying to make a splash.
