Duplicate copy. It would be "ouch" if I were trying to sell both.

Yeah, I had it, I sold it as well. Just terrible anachronistic performances with nothing new to add to the music other than some strange sonorities.

I'm interested in these (though I suspect I've arrived too late to this thread). If they are still available, I'd appreciate first the Vol. and No. of each - it'll be at the bottom of the spines. If I don't already have them, I'll take them. That is, if your local lending library hasn't by now. ;D

I'll go back there this weekend and see if I can pull those two items back. I'll let you know.

That's above and beyond the call, sir. Much appreciated. I only hope that, should you be successful, I don't then find that I already own them. ;D

To be honest, I think that if you expect me to make any efforts along these lines, you should first go through your collection to see if these are not duplicating CDs you already own. If you really want them, I'll help you, but not if you're undecided.

Actually, sir, I expect nothing from you - you offered, remember? ;)

As it turns out, however, I do have these already. Thanks for the offer, anyway. :)

:o

Did you want this one for yourself? In 7, Monteux in my opinion miscalculates some tempos - the Vivace in I is too slow, and the Assai meno vivace is much too slow. As confirmed by B's metronome mark, that contrasting section should be a good deal less lively than the main part, but not so slow as to be an andante. Monteux's finale, however, is unsurpassable.

No, I already have it.  I was just surprised that someone would give up these beautiful recordings (I'm much less happy with some of Monteux's other Beethoven.  I remember the VPO Eroica as rather heartless, but it's been a while since I listened to it.)
