I noticed on Classic Select's website that they talked about an old Christmas album of his which they said was out of print for some time and is now available.

Hmm, may need to check that out, I don't have any of his holiday stuff...  thanks :)
The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.

It's one of the better, maybe best, holiday albums by an established artist. I'd put it along side Mahalia Jackson's and Ella Fitzgerald's. It's easy to get schmaltzy with holiday music, but not here.

Not sure if I've asked you this already, but do you know her album La Question?

Still play "This Is The Day" and "Uncertain Smile" from that fairly regularly.

Yes, nice album with some solid compositions.
Today's listen.

In its audio cassette format.

Played it using this beautiful beast:

It's massive and durable enough to double as a personal protection device.  Smack someone upside the head with this, and down they go.

and free-associating to say that exploring the outtakes from Springsteen's Nebraska album I heard a really interesting one called "Preacher's Daughter":
