I have Rohan/Prague Symphony Orchestra on a 1978 Supraphon LP. Can't say it astounds me, but it might be the music rather than the performance...it's been a while since I put it on the turntable and I can't think of anything terribly memorable to commend it. Perhaps I'll put it in the "play" pile for this week.

Will be watching this thread for strong recommendations and other, more useful commentary than my own.

I have heard only one recording of this rare piece, and I bought it pretty much on the spot. I'm not sure where to order a copy, as amazon no longer lists it in their inventory. (Somebody is hawking a copy at amazon for nearly $40). It features the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, led by Louis Fremaux, and also includes the Symphony in C. It's a rather balanced recording, with good arituclation, sound quality, and performance tempi. Most closely resesmbled the live performance I attended awhile back, and was a easy buy for me. You mentioned one in your initial post that I haven't heard of. What do think of it?

Here's the Amazon URL: http://www.amazon.com/Bizet-Roma-Symphony-Roman-Carnival/dp/B000009IDS/ref=sr_1_2/103-6192894-4753427?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1177284455&sr=1-2

Sadly, they don't include an image.  :-[

Have you chosen a recording? I'd be eager to hear how the search has been going.  :)

Not surprised, given how few recordings of it there are. I'm going to have to take a look at your's.

Much appreciated, MahlerTitan, can't believe the whole thing is so freely available.  :)

Side Note- Is there anyway to save the audio coming out of one's computer? (Mac).  ;D
