"Here arrives another young and delusional composer who intends on reaching absurd heights of musical achievement"
-----
Hello all. For several excruciating years I listened to my father blindly idolizing J.S. Bach and incessantly subjecting me to his music and every known detail of his life, no matter the irrelevancy of it. Naturally, I became very tired of this and gave in to his smothering attempts to acquaint me with the music of Bach. I started with studying an aria from one of the passions, and fell into obsession. This obsession was not like my father's, I had no interest in performing verbal fellatio on someone who's accomplishments have been more than thoroughly explored and dare I say embellished, for well over a century now. I was, and even more so now, am possessed by the thought of attaining the musical prowess exhibited in the works of *tiresome list of names we all know*. I pray that I do not reek of arrogance/narcissism, as I only wish to be straightforward and for my character to be known. If it isn't evident already, I am mostly interested in Baroque music. Not sure how exactly I'll be spending my time on here, but regardless I am very pleased to have found such a seemingly vibrant community of people, and I look forward to the discussions that will be had with like-minded individuals.
Welcome to the forum :). That was a most constructive reaction to your father's obsession, I'd perhaps have been better off in my childhood at least going along with some of my elders' interests on an intellectual level and learning something :-[.
Very cool; hope you have fun here! Nice to know some other young people like myself joining forums like this one.

Well played.
I've no idea why but reading your introduction had me thinking of Vivaldis Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major "La tempesta di mare".
I've been trying to translate your avatar into music but haven't gotten very far.
