Title: What about Georg Schumann?
Post by: Sydney Grew on July 06, 2009, 06:32:46 AM
Can any one assist with Georg Schumann (1866-1952)? In a work of reference his music is described as "violently sentimental, in the common manner of Liszt and Richard Strauss." But we have been able to find neither a complete list of his compositions, nor even the exact number of symphonies he wrote. How strange it is that ninety per centum of composers disappear so soon into utter obscurity and are quite forgotten after a lifetime of productive labour.
