Brunch is becoming a nightmare...
( My usual Tuesday diner is going out of business on the 19th. Their chef quit when he heard, and the guy trying to replace him just loudly announced that he doesn't know how to make pancakes... which does not inspire confidence regarding the omelet l ordered 30 minutes ago. )
This is food for thought

( Continuing OT since folks are commenting. ) It got tense after my omelet finally arrived... The waitress was arguing with the owner, who apparently didn't give notice to the staff about the closing - they learned about it from reading a local newspaper. Bad blood, to be sure, and a bad business practice. They may not be able to continue until the 19th. A sad end for a business which has operated in one location since 1946.
An entirely dispiriting episode.
