These choices reflect either a limited taste or a limited horizon.
Only the top 14 are JSB's! Blashphemy!!!
I have seen this list before and it appears to have been assembled without discrimination. Without discussing glaring omissions and dubious inclusions, I note the following:
30 Brahms Intermezzi? Which ones? They come from different opus numbers.
47 Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies. What, all of them? Some are hardly known at all.
Similarly with:
48 Mendelssohn Songs without Words, and
65 Grieg Lyric Pieces
Both cover many opus numbers and should hardly be included en bloc.
Also:
92 Faure Nocturnes. If so, why not: Chopin Nocturnes?
Why do Rhakmaninoff's 24 preludes have three entries (56,57,61) whereas Chopin's have only one. This is artificial.
118 Scriabin Etude Op2.1. Why not Scriabin's Etudes Op2 in the same way that Chopin's Etudes are included as a whole?

I've never known an individual who has unlimited taste. It's Mn Dave's list, and he's entitled to his preferences.

Right, and I also supposed, that a limited horizon was more probable. But in order not to offend the poster too much, I wrote as I wrote.

Yeah! Shame and scandal and (etc.)!
But even
worse: no
Passacaglia & Fugue in c minor, BWV 582!
One of those rare pieces that make me think there
is an eternal God!
Blasphemy again!
Yes, scandalous and outrageous!
And still worse that the number one on the organ list is a work which is claimed not to be by Bach (BWV 565).
Blasphemy again!

BWV 565 remains a work that can browbeat the listener, though.
It's not my favourite Bach [?], but nevertheless a joy to listen to. Even a lot of rock-solid non-classical music lovers seem to feel that way. 8)

Nor is it my favorite Bach work, but still I find it exciting, and I am rather convinced about its authenticity.
About the claimed un-Bachian style of this work, I would like to draw attention to the fact, that the youthful Bach Fantasia BWV 922 (supposed to be contemporary with BWV 565, if it is authentic Bach) contains a long row of arpeggio-chord sequences which´s figurations are almost similar to the passage in the BWV 565 just before the concluding long chords. I do not remember that I have seen similar figurations in works of other composers.
I've just noticed this, I must say that including Vaughan Williams on either list is bordering on mental $:)
"21. Symphonic Etudes - Robert Schumann"
I can't believe I don't own some version of these. Do they go by another name? :o

Etudes symphoniques, Symphonische Etuden, Studi sinfonici ...
Though at one or another point during composition and first editions they were known also as
Etudes en forme de variations,
Fantasies et Finale sur un theme de M. le Baron de Fricken. Considered titles include
Variataions pathetiques and
Etuden im Orchestercharakter von Florestan und Eusebius.
But neither of those has anything to do with strange fact that you don't know them under their standard title - Symphonic Etudes (in whatever language).

Too slow.
Horowitz really grasps the right mood there.
