I hesitated: does this belong to the Bach organ thread, or should I post it here? I've chosen for the latter, because maybe it could help the 'beginning' members, who are not sure if they really like compositions of this composer, or works for this instrument.
So, if you want to have a first listening to most works of the Bach organ catalogue, this site might be a fine choice to start with:
http://www.blockmrecords.org/bach/index.htm
Free downloads of (almost) the entire Bach organ 'stuff' in .m4a (256 kb/s) or .mp3-format (128 kb/s).
If you want to convert the .m4a-files, you might try the Switch Sound File Converter, although there are many other possibilities on the internet, of course.
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing the link with us, Marc. :)

You're very welcome. I think it's a nice initiave of the
University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and the other generous sponsors.

Unfortunately the trial abonnement of my downloaded Switch Sound file converter has expired. Do you know any other free available converter software on the net? I have downloaded the m4a files as well as the mp3 files some weeks ago, but the mp3 files are too "distorted" I think.

Do you have the
Switch Plus version?
Because I think that one is shareware.
The 'simple' version should be free, though. But I forgot which download-site I chose.
Here are some possibilities:
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Misc__Sound_Tools/Switch.html
I myself converted the .m4a-files to 320 kb/s .mp3-format, and it sounds good, IMO.
Alternatives (don't know them myself, though):
Free M4a to MP3 Converter:

AAC Audio converter:

Good luck!
Thank you very much, Marc. :)
