Title: Amusing things overheard on concerts or opera
Post by: Siedler on May 17, 2009, 01:38:54 PM
Last night I went to see Richard Strauss' Die Frau Ohne Schatten and during the inveral I walked pass two middle aged women whom I heard discussing about the opera: "oh yes, I thought it would be a light opera, waltzes and such...it should be Strauss, shouldn't it?".  ;D
Have you overheard any funny remarks on opera or concerts?

When I attended the premiere of Schoenberg's 'Moses un Aron' at the Metropolitan Opera in 1999, an old lady in the row behind me muttered:

"I survived the Holocaust, and I don't want to go through this again"
