Hi everyone, Andy here. I had to take aLOT of time off because of my project has begun to escalate. I've been writing, playing, and studying music constantly, so I just didn't have much time to discuss.
Apologies to anyone (if anyone ;)) who was wondering where the h#%@ I was.
I won't be posting much for now, but I guess I'm "back". I have been also feeling kind of boring compared to most guys on this forum, as all I really listen to these days is...you guessed, it: Wagner, Bruckner, Beethoven, and Richard Strauss. Even Joseph Haydn, Verdi, and Mozart don't get played anywhere near as much anymore. I feel like my Romati-Teutono thing would once again bore people to death.
In any event, glad to be checking in on this: by far the best "Our Music" forum that has ever existed.
Delighted to 'see' you again, Andryushka!
Well its good to see all is okay with ya! ;D

What's the problem here Andy? None that I can see. 8) Carry on dude! 0:)
Andy!!!!!!
We've missed you. Glad to see you around. :)
And there is nothing boring about listening to classical music 0:)
Thanks so much, Ray and Brian, for the welcome back! I really makes my morning!
Good to see you back, Andy. :)

You're the only 21st Century composer I listen to.
I am deeply honored! I withdraw the delicatessen remark, your worship.

You know, some people will really resent me for this, but when I play Mahler I play the 9th, the Abbado Dvd or the classic Karajan.
The other symphonies are obviously brilliant, but that
9th....Transcendent, Mystical,Profoundly Moving...feel free to jump in here.

Mahler's 9th is my second favorite work of his, after his
2nd, so no resentment here. But having listened to Bernstein's 1987 recording of
Mahler's 2nd this morning, I'm once again convinced that a good recording of this work is a listening experience not to be missed. :)
Why would someone resent you for listening to music. ???

Can a case be made for listening to music? 8)

Indeed. For example, if
I didn't listen to music, I might throttle certain people. 0:)

Oh JA! Bernstein's Mahler as a general, gotta-have
rule.

I'd say this makes a great case.
Andy, Good to see you back. Post when you can, what you can.

Ditto! I tend to go by that tenet myself, of late, so it took me a while to add my comment here. But of course, it's always good to see you back. :)
