Title: Merce Cunningham dies at 90
Post by: Egebedieff on July 27, 2009, 06:41:04 AM
I put this here because it was through Cunningham that so many people got to hear Cage, Feldman, Wolff, Kosugi, Mumma, Tudor, etc. who wouldn't've otherwise

Yes, and through Cage, Feldman, et al., that so many people got to see such great dancing!!

I saw Cunningham only once, very late in his career. He could only shuffle across the stage, but that shuffle was the most graceful thing I'd ever seen. He'll be sorely missed. Not too many left from that crew, one of the more exciting crews in music.
