Title: How does Harmony affect word setting?
Post by: Guido on September 26, 2009, 05:51:07 AM
Does harmony choice of harmony ever obscure what words are being sung by a choir? Is it harder to understand a choir singing a cluster chord than one singing a standard C major chord, or a unison?

A choral conductor would tell you that the chords shouldn't matter if the choir has really good diction. Now if the words are in a language you don't know, if the choir has good diction and the words are printed in the program, you should be able to follow.
