Title: piano reduction Sheet music for Sheep may safely graze?
Post by: Guido on October 16, 2009, 05:54:42 PM
I'm looking for a decent piano arrangement of the whole of sheep may safely graze - anyone know of one on the internet?

Very decent indeed, but one might as well call it a composition in its own right - Grainger's very typical version, attached. Enjoy it.....!

hmm, that's got the juices flowing, I'm off to play it, it's rather a beautiful thing under the fingers IIRC....

course, it's a very Graingerian 'ramble through...'. not an arrangement of the whole, as you requested....

So sentimental and lovely! Cheers. I'll keep looking...

Amazingly no edition of Cantata 208 is on IMSLP!

I'm sure it is....i think I've looked at it

anyway, they do have two transcriptions of it which are probably good - one by Friedman, one by Lipatti - but both blocked, unfortunately. So near, yet so far....
