Yay, thanks for posting.  I assume she's plugging her new CD.  Hoping Conan stays on the air long enough to interview her.

Although I greatly admire Ms Hahn, she could play while dancing in the nude and reciting the Gettysburg address through a ventriloquist's dummy and I still wouldn't tune in.  I've seen Conan O'Brien and cannot think of anything that would entice me to watch him again.

I like Conan much better than Leno or Letterman but don't watch him much. I'm usually reading or asleep.

Okay, my threshold of would-not-tune-in for a naked Hilary Hahn playing while reciting the Gettysburg address through a Muppet (or whatnot) would be Glenn Beck.

She was naked?   ;D

Only in David Ross's fantasies. And surely in Hornyteacher's.  ;D

Funny: Glenn Beck and Conan O'Brian are two of my favourite television personalities.  8)

I saw Hahn on the show and thought she was sensational; great technique, immaculate intonation, and making it all look terribly easy.  Her pianist (not identified) was excellent, too.

Didn't recognize the piece(s), although someone suggested Jean Marie LeClair's "Tambourin."  The second one sounded more like Bartók.  FWIW, the audience went wild.

PS, you can see the performance here (http://www.hulu.com/watch/120785/the-tonight-show-with-conan-obrien-thu-jan-14-2010).  On the bar just below the video, click on the fourth little dot to get to Hahn's portion of the show.

Does Bartók sound that good? (Asked only semi-facetiously.) I'd appreciate it if someone can confirm what Bruce said or identify the piece if turns out to be something else. :)

That is Valentina Lisitsa, her current accompanist on tour.

Too bad hulu is not available outside the US and I can't see the clip... But come on, Valentina Lisitsa... wow... I had seen Lisitsa numerous times on YT, she is VERY good. Combining her with Hahn is like a dream :D Curiously enough, there are no recordings of Lisitsa by major labels like DG... Maybe that will change after her collaboration with Hahn. She deserves to be recorded well and available worldwide.

Who is a fabulous pianist. Her Chopin etudes DVD is posted on youtube, and I strongly recommend anyone interested in those works check it out. Her technique is flawless.

Valentina Lisitsa's got a recital album coming out on Naxos soon - mp3 in March, physical CD in September. Beethoven's Appassionata, Schumann's Kinderszenen, an opera fantasy by Thalberg, and Liszt's Totentanz.
