Title: Messiaen with Tanke ( Brilliant) or other suggestions?
Post by: Martin Lind on June 16, 2007, 01:39:17 AM
There is a (new?) set of a certain Willem Tanke playing the whole organ music of Messiaen. As this is Brilliant this is of course pretty cheap. Is the whole organ music of Messiaen worth to hear it? And is this Tanke ( never heard his name) a good interpreter of Messiaens works?

Regards
Martin

Messiaen is not my cup of soup, but as a added interest I can say that Brilliant in general always takes good licensed recordings, or takes good performers to do it.

Pretty interesting I think, this is the man Martin.
Enjoy.

I can say that all of Messiaen's organ music is worth hearing. How much is the set to which you're referring?

This set is going to be released on Brilliant, 8 cd's, well it will be a pittance compared to the full price it once was.
