Hello to everyone.

Who'll be the first to answer correctly? I'll attach 5 files with excerpts from orchestral works.

Here's number 1.

nice little quiz there, a quiz that hardly quizzed anyone, because nobody knew the answers.

For those willing to explore off-the-beaten-track repertoire: the music of Robert Volkmann is really worth listening. A German composer, under the influence of Brahms, Schumann etc, whose works have a certain Slavic flavo(u)r, he was a skil(l)ful orchestrator, with a strong sense for melody.

Not exactly a forgotten genius, but his music is pleasurable.

Conductor Werner Andreas Albert recorded his complete orchestral works for the enterprising CPO label.

Kindest regards.
