Title: A station worth noting
Post by: Chaszz on August 04, 2011, 04:09:20 PM
WMNR.org concentrates to some extent on late Romantic music, although not on Wagner and Brahms. It prides itself on playing underappreciated gems, and does a good job at this. I have discovered a good number of quite valuable lesser known works and composers here.

I seldom listen to radio anymore. I'm at the juncture where I could put several classical stations out-of-business quite easily.

Any examples?  Two composers I wanted to find out more about after hearing on the radio (a long time ago) were Martinu and Robert Simpson, the latter I have gone off a bit and the former is one (among many) of my favourite composers.

That's a notion worth stating.
