No, you misread. That's 118... 18 is Bach, J.S. .....

Actually I would have to think about this. I never get past number four or so...
Honegger is listed as my No. 18 on my Facebook page, so I'll just go with that for now. :)
Froberger.

I thought 118 was . . . no, I mustn't . . . .
I dunno ... Berg?
Bach, C.P.E.
I am waiting for the "150 composers you have never heard of" thread before posting my picks. :D

We have that thread. It's called: Only the New (Music), where I essentially am alone in the endeavor.
If I hadn't already made a top 25, I would venture Sibelius. His music has a "number 18" kind of vibe to it.
Nielsen for me! :)

Going by my alphabetical list, I'd say Aho. Bing A is at #1, while Aho is at #18.
Bach, by the way, is in the top 100, while Beethoven is in the top 150.
Poor Samuel Zyman...

Also first name to Aaron.
No.18 on the alphabetical list is Fiodor (Feodor) Akimenko (1876-1945). He is represented by a symphonic poem, "Angel" (1922), the subject taken from a poem by Lermontov.

I always skip 18 and go straight on to 19. Just my luck to get a thread like this, eh?
18 has kind of an I Ching vibe, hasn't it? Is that why you give it an habitual miss?

Well, like everyone else I use the
I Ching when compiling my lists of composers, and it's unnerving when I so persistently get that sentence that goes: 'The wise man evades the 18 and embraces the 19 with delight'. It's like treading on the cracks in the pavement. Best just not to do it.
According to my list of 25, my #18 is Dufay, which is completely all right with me
:)
