Except you want no instrumental accompaniment, or at least you did in the original title (why was it changed?). I do hope others more experienced than me will comment on baroque and elizabethan examples. That would interest me a lot.

I'll just mention that Monteverdi's  Madrigals Book 4 is wonderful. As are J S Bach's motets.
