Hey everyone, obviously from my name Beethoven happens to be my favorite composer (I'll spare you all the rant of awe about how he manages to juxtapose emotion from the Romantic Era with the balance and order of the Classical period) but I really enjoy almost all the works of the Romantic era. My order of preference happens to be Romantic, Classical, Baroque, Renaissance, Contemporary.
Anyway, more about myself. I'm Chris, 18 years old, and I attend Vanderbilt University right now. This coming fall I'll be a sophomore, and I have absolutely no intent to take any music literature classes outside of those that will fulfill my liberal arts requirement (not my choice; my parents are forbidding me to. I didn't mention that I'm Asian and thus have strict parents, did I?). In addition, being pre-med limits the classes I can take. However, I have taken two music literature classes this past year, one covering the entire spectrum of Western historical music and one discussing Romantic and Contemporary music on a graduate level. That being said, I really don't know as much as I'd like to know about Western music so hopefully I'll be on this site a lot. Hope to get to know all of you, and if I ever say something batf*** insane that will very efficiently persuade you all to lynch me immediately (and it will happen eventually), I beg of you all to please restrain yourselves and politely inform me as to why I'm a pompous imbecile.
In conclusion, great to be here! I can't wait to take part in all of your advanced and enlightening music discussions.
