Poll
Question:
Which genre do you prefer?
Option 1: Orchestral Music
votes: 15
Option 2: Chamber Music
votes: 13
It seems to me that many of the composer vs composer polls really have more to do with a preference of orchestral or chamber music. So I was curious which one people prefer at GMG.
Disclaimer: This is just a preference thing and should not be taken to mean you dislike the other. No animals were injured or harmed during the creation of this poll.
Chamber, no doubt. :)

Well, if I let my own catalogue do the voting, overwhelmingly chamber.
Can I pick Chamber orchestral music? :P
If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with orchestral. Though, it isn't an easy answer for me.
Chamber, especially if we include the solos in chamber. (I know we shouldn't. But hey, I consider anything non-orchestral to be chamber)
Well.......you all know my answer! :D
Although, it's much closer than you might think. Couldn't do without either.

I know. You can't be "TotalNut".

Orchestral.
And, Karl, I'm patiently waiting for your Gothic or Gurre-Lieder ;)

Won't anybody compose a "Catastrophic"?
Orchestral music. :)
Chamber.

Karl Weigl (1881-1949) composed an "APOCALYPTIC" Symphony. That's pretty close to catastrophic ;D

I picked chamber music and did not include solo music.
Orchestral, though it's not the slam dunk it used to be...
It's closer than I was expecting....

How so, Neal? Which side were you expecting the blowout from? :)

Gurn, my own expectation was that Orchestral would be in the lead (not by a blowout, though).

Based on some of the the composer polls, I was thinking there might be a heavy tilt towards chamber.

I think this is going into extra time and, possibly penalty shootout.

Yeah, me too. Although if Mahler had done any string quartets; but no, wait, the players wouldn't have got through without falling out. :D

Substitute one of the strings for a piano, they just might to withstand the pull of gravity.
Orchestral.
Although I am reading Forsyth's entry on the violin with a view to writing some quartets :)
I haven't voted as there's no "both" option - I can't decide :-\
I'd rather easily go for the orchestra. I do still love to listen to, and indeed play chamber music though. :)
