Not to suggest that I wish any composer had stopped composing in his or her 20's, but there are composers whose reputation would not have suffered a bit had he or she stopped composing after an early work. No, I don't mean Stravinsky because as great as Rite was, he would be a lesser composer had he got gone through the evolution and composed in oh so many styles. I am thinking more in line of Leocavallo. Iris and La Boheme, etc. are OK operas but...

Anyone else?

How did I get to 3,000 posts. I spend most of my time working and being a good father and husband and son, having hardly any time for leisure... Oh well...
