Title: Promcasts - with Naxos music samples (great resource)
Post by: Soundproof on July 14, 2007, 02:08:20 AM
The proms have started. Yesterday evening had Watkins playing Elgar's concerto, should have been something for 71dB. (If it hadn't been for Beethoven's 9th following!)

The Independent have put up a good resource. They feature the day's programme, with a promcast interviewing principals.
And then there's a link to NAXOS selections of that evening's music. At "near" CD-quality, no less.

I caught last night's 'First Night' on my PVR. If I figure out how to transcode/convert it into suitable formats, I'll upload it somewhere. Mind you, I'm new at this, so it may take me a while to figure out. ;D At any rate, I'll be sure to capture next Wednesday's (18th) concert on Radio 3, as I'll be attending it. Kurt Masur conducting Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings and Bruckner's Seventh Symphony. Can't wait!
