I don't know too much about it actually but here's two different instruments; strings are plucked and sure sounds very civilized. China may not be a great cultural statement in the world but it beats the British institutional hatred for its own art traditions.

In some countries even when common people at official events have no idea about the complex fine art they're listening to they have nothing but enthusiasm for it as it represents their nation, their culture, and them. The weird philistine pragmatic British horde by contrast have only mindless indifference and perhaps a few jokes before they shuffle back as quickly as possible to their pop music and simplicities.
