It doesn't have to be just Wagner or Verdi this year. Last weekend Harry Partch' "Delusion of the fury" got its European premiere in the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum / Germany.
I wasn't there (alas...) but this morning I read in my newspaper a quite substantial and positive article.
Special attention goes to Thomas Meixner who made copies of the instruments: "marimba eroica", "cloud chamber bowls" etc. The musicians of ensemble "Musikfabrik" learned to play them.
The production runs till sept. 8th. Heiner Goebels is the director.
I think it's amazing that someone else has built a set of instruments!

Harry Partch has some great stuff! I do not believe scales of more than 40 tones (?) will ever catch on, but... An early work called
Inventions on Ancient Greek Scales is a favorite.
