Some other orchestral pieces with great trumpet parts: Schmidt's Symphony no. 4, Respighi's Pines of Rome, Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra, Gershwin's An American in Paris, Stravinsky's Petrouchka, Ravel's PC, Debussy's La mer, Rimsky's Scheherazade etc.

DJ nailed the greatest ones, but I also have a soft spot for Neruda's trumpet concerto.

So much good stuff.

Now I see the true meaning for the creation of this thread.  ;)  :)
