Hello all
Think I'll enjoy looking at stuff on this site. Don't know masses about classical music. Only started properly listening to bits and bobs this last year.
What I love listening to most: Klemperer. I've got the following sets: the Beethoven symphonies, his Mahler, the Bruckner, the Wagner: Orchestral Music.
Also love the Beethoven Complete Violin Sonatas by Faust and Melnikov.
Hopefully Santa will get me Klemperer's Romantic Symphonies set.
I'd like to check out some different versions of Mahler's 7th. I've not managed to sit through Otto K's one, it just irritates me, but have been told it's a bit of an odd one and rarely played 'properly'. Have been recommended the Tennstedt Mahler box and Abbado Berlin live one to check out, as there's no way I can afford £70 for the Horenstein NPO one.
Hello, parsnip :) I, too, enjoy the Klemperer recordings you mention.
