No. I think the cartoon is mocking a specific tone you run into sometimes online wherein someone angrily bashes something that other people indicate they enjoy, and this person seems to feel guilty that they can't share in the enjoyment, eg book/film/music. Dude, if you don't like it,
it's okay. Perhaps the cartoon should have brackets, as in "I don't like [thing]."
I enjoy it better when I think it doesn't make any sense.

Love this!! I've seen it before posted by someone on Facebook. :D
Now, I will use this every time someone says "I don't like that recording" of whatever I'm listening to. ;D
I haven't a clue why anyone would find this funny or amusing. It's like the person who wrote it doesn't know grammar.

Nothing funny about this comic strip at all.

The grammar is simplified to match the point. The kid's complaint has to be written as "thing," so that we can insert whatever we want in there. We're not looking at something that's supposed to be literal or grammatically "correct." The grammar is as absurd as the event that happens in the strip.

But....it's still not funny.
Just because it's a comic doesn't mean it's intended to be hilarious.

I agree. I like the comic strip. It is there to point out the absurdity of people saying "I don't like this", and "I don't like that" ad nauseum. And the angel has the perfect and appropriate response to any "I don't like this" comments. It is simple, clever and effective.
It is meant to send a message to any 'generic nay-sayer', perhaps more so, than to be 'ha ha' funny.
Had the angel responded, meh, that might have been funny 8)

On the contrary, I enjoy a wide range of humor. I had a friend tell me one time I have one of the darkest senses of humor he'd ever seen. My reply to him was "Go jump off a cliff." ;D

I'm more of an observational and situational humorist. To give you some ideas of humor I enjoy, and laugh at on a regular basis, are the sitcoms
Seinfeld,
Frasier,
Wings,
NewsRadio,
Everybody Loves Raymond,
Curb Your Enthusiasm, and
Becker.
