Title: Hello from Athens and a music publisher!
Post by: nikolas on February 09, 2014, 08:20:14 PM
Hello to all,

As I'd imagine it's only proper and nice to introduce myself at first... So...

My name is Nikolas Sideris and I'm a composer and publisher of contemporary classical music. I hold a PhD in composition and I really really love my job! ^_^

In any case I think I might allow my website to do more than I can, by typing. If you visit the following link, you can listen to my works and the works of the other composers and learn much more about everyone...

thanks for reading...

Nikolas

Welcome to the forum!

What are some of your favourite composers?

There are some other composers on the forum too, with their own threads in the 'Composing and Performing' room - you should make your own thread there too.
(your link doesn't seem to work)

Link works for me.

Welcome nikolas. I've only spent time in northern Greece (Thessaloniki, Naoussa, Chalkidiki & Meteora), but it was enjoyable time, and I hope to revisit the country sometime when it's not 6,000 miles away. I also enjoy the music of some Greek composers, notably Nikos Skalkottas and Iannis Xenakis, though I can't say I know a great number of them.

Hiya,

Links works fine over here too... Not sure what's going on. I'll retype it here in case something's wrong:

Thank you for your welcome!

Favourite composers (apart from myself) would probably be Prokofiev, Messiaen and Scriabin amongst others...

amw: In the link there's 4 greek names in there. Do take a stroll and explore them. There's youtube videos to check out and listen.

And once I get back I'll start exploring the site a bit more... :)

A real mystery then, as I can't manage to visit the site with other browsers either.

Very nice, Prokofiev is among my very favourites, and Scriabin & Messiaen are cool, too :)

Hi nikolas, and welcome. Those are three of my favorite composers, too. Have a good time here - lots of interesting people from all over the world.

Thank you all for your nice welcome! :)

May I ask? Most of you here are "passive" or "active" members of the classical music industry? Do excuse the term, but until recently I've just been member of forums of composers or pianists, etc. This one seems to be not so much dominated by such member, but rather by those who just love the music (<-which is probably such a main point in doing anything... at least for me)...

Just curious I guess!

Passive.
But remember what Aristotle said about audiences!  :)
