Title: Record shops in Warsaw and Prague
Post by: HIPster on May 15, 2014, 12:16:48 PM
Hello GMG'ers!

A good friend and general music lover/collector is traveling to these cities from the States next week (leaves on Sunday, though will be checking email).  I mentioned to him that I would inquire here, for any recommendations on places to hit.

He is planning to hit the Chopin museum, but other, similar sites would also be welcomed I'm sure!

As a beer lover - snob really, lol - please post any local favorites to look out for; I know that he'll find these!   ;)

Thank you!

HIPster,

Introduce your friend to Google.

Also, there's a sweet little shop off the old town market square in Prague. Down a little passageway next to the Italian restaurant next to the Dali museum.

But Google will tell you all that and more.

Oh, man... it's been a long time since I've been in Prague. I'll have to check my notes. I recall a good record shop somewhere on the Malostranska side right off Charles bridge, but that was 14 years ago.

Bonton, at the foot of Wenceslas Sq., was the big record store in Prague when I was living there. It was still functioning during my last visit in 2009.
