Title: Original NYT review of "Abbey Road"
Post by: Brian on September 26, 2014, 12:11:16 PM
Holy cow. (http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9D04EFDB1F30E73BBC4D53DFB6678382679EDE)

"Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" are "mediocrity incarnate." "Oh! Darling" is written and sung by John Lennon (?).

I know, it was an outrage. Mediocrity should have sued for defamation for being associated with the Beatles.

Paywall, and I don't pay the Grey Lady.
That said, "Here comes the sun" is one of many songs which, had they appeared on any other band's album, would have long ago become the answer to a question on Trivial Pursuit.*

*Imagines a time when Trivial Pursuit is itself merely a question in a trvia game.
