Hi Everyone,
Maybe this is of interest to some fellow Lisztians here. Contrary to the comments with the video, I assure and know with 100% certainty that the pianist heard in this recording is Ervin Nyiregyhazi.

I've heard some of his Liszt and it's quite amazing, indeed!
There should be a thread for all Liszt recording discussion.

Hi North Star,
It seems like that (and similar) threads are only for commercially produced recordings.

No, any recordings (apart from one's own, I suppose - there's a separate board for that) can be discussed in those threads.

Hi North Star,
This item isn't something that was prepared or produced up to commercial standards, and I don't see anything similar in those threads . . . those threads seem to be more for discussing and comparing commercial recordings we already know about and which have been reviewed in print or online somewhere.
This isn't even the entire Sonata, it is just 1:15 of it - a fragment.
Mvh,
Michael

I realize all that and it is all the more reason to have it in a single thread, if there was one on
Liszt recordings. I'm not saying you've done anything
wrong, just that all
Liszt recording (and fragments of recordings) discussion would be good to have in a single place, as it is with most composers of similar stature here.
Regarding commercial standards, they weren't held that high in the early days of recording in any case.

I just started this one:
Franz Liszt - A Critical Discography (http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,24867.0.html)
But it would not be where to post this clip. The thread above is for people to post about exceptional and available recordings of Liszt.
;)

Looking forward to the thread devoted to unexceptional & unavailable
Liszt recordings ;)

Hi Mandryka,
This is an outtake from a 1970s CTV documentary.
