Afro-Cuban jazz, Latin Jazz, Bossa Novam Brazilian Jazz and similar...
Have some gentlemen here listened to savoury pices by Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Poncho Sánchez, Jorge Dalto, Chano Pozo, Ray Barreto, Gato Barbieri, Dave Valnetin, Clare Fischer, Carl Tjader, Tania Maria, Carlos Jobim, etc.
Many Latin jazz pieces with a rhythmic structure based on Cuban clave on 2 bars of 4/4, on of them syncopated (typically clave 2-3 or 3-2), other based on 6/8 and 4/4 Brazilian clave.
The romantic instrumentals are fundamented on bolero and the itchy on mambo.

Here is one of my favorites. A desert island disk. The greatest Sinatra recording ever. This is also one of the best-sounding LPs ever made! (Altough I could have sworn the one I have is Capitol and not Reprise--guess I'll have to get off my azz and go to the archives and look)

I am also looking for recommendations for the best Astrud Gilberto disks.
Also: Any El Chicano fans here? My wife's uncle is Mickey Lespron.
I don't have a lot of jazz, and most of what I do have features Davis and Monk, but I did get some of the AfroCuban AllStars series, which I found to be better than the Beuna Vista Social Club series. The two followup CDs are absurdly cheap, it seems.

Of all the musicians highlighted by Juan de Marcos Gonzalez, Ry Cooder, and Buena Vista Social Club, my favorite is probably the pianist Ruben Gonzalez, who has been called "the Cuban Thelonious Monk" (though I don't really understand the comparison, to be honest - he's not very Monkish). Gonzalez's solo albums, "Introducing..." and "Chanchullo", are absolute masterpieces - both of Cuban jazz and of great piano playing. Joy, for me 0:)
Speak of General Motors the Devil, I just heard this on Sonic Universe--very nice!

as this thread seems to extend way beyond what I'd still call "Latin jazz", there might be interest in this recent release here - just giving it a first listen as I'm typing:

A work I've enjoyed recently is Mantiqueira, the album of the brazilian jazz musician Nelson Ayers.

Mongo Santamaría, marqués de las congas. All his recordings have the flavour mark.
