Hi,
New to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My one of many regrets in life is that I didn't get into classical music until late in life so now I'm to catch up. Carlos from Puerto Rico but now live in the U.S.
Hi Carlos, and welcome to GMG.
Life is too short for regrets, so just be happy you discovered classical music when you did. There is so much - SO much - marvelous music to hear. I see you have already posted in the Haydn thread, and he is one of the greats, for sure.
Enjoy yourself, and hope your "catching up" brings you much pleasure.

Welcome aboard! It's never too late to discover music. Who are some of your favorite composers?
I might suggest Villa-Lobos and Ginastera for you if you are nationalistic at all.

No need for that. Puerto Rico has composers of its own, although they may not be at the level of Ginastera.

I remember the Sierra being somewhat more to my liking, but neither should be despised. (I don't remember anything else I have from these two.
And of course:
¡Bienvenidos!
Hi Carlos. Greetings from the classical music capital of the world, Vienna, Austria. Welcome to the forum. 8)
Welcome Carlos! Better late than never, and many wonderful pieces to discover!
¡Hola! from Spain, and welcome to GMG.
Cheers,
Welcome aboard Carlos and enjoy your musical journeys :)
Welcome, Carlos!
Yes, welcome to the party. :)
Thanks all for your welcoming. Speaking of Puerto Rico, I recently discovered that Pablo Casals, the great cellist, is half Puerto Rican on his mother's side. She was from Mayaguez, PR. Casals is actually buried in PR as he vowed never to return to Spain as long as the dictator Franco remained in power. Casals was also instrumental in starting the Puerto Rican symphony orchestra.

That's wonderful!
