Škerjanc was born in Graz and died in Ljubljana.
Slovenian composer, conductor, pianist and writer on music. He studied in Ljubljana, at the Prague Conservatory (1920–21), and at the Vienna Academy (1922–4).

He was also a writer and critic. His book, Od Bacha do Šostakoviča has a literal meaning From Bach to Shostakovich.
He composed mostly in a lyrical, marked late Romantic style with Impressionist influences, though he passed through a brief Expressionist phase in the late 1920s and employed 12-note techniques in the late 1950s.
He is distressingly under-recorded.

Allegro patetico -Tempo del principio
I´ve only got a piano concertino (jugoton LP), but it is a timid, neoclassical work, not of importance.
If you are referring to the 1949 piece, I strongly disagree.
It's well-written and enjoyable.
