Title: Hi there
Post by: Amore di Viola on November 26, 2016, 01:23:13 PM
Step one: Register for my first forum, ever
Step two: Find an appropriate avatar and think of something cool to write under it
Step three: Nervously step onto the stage with my first post, clear my digital throat and say:

Hi there,
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a curious, omnivorous music lover in the sub-prime of life, from Denmark. I have played a couple of instruments myself, enough to have tremendous respect for those who can. I am deeply fascinated by music as a language, as a means of communication, and I hope to engage in discussions with the knowledgeable members of this forum and learn a lot.

I work a lot. That's most annoying, it leaves too little time for music. So I try to focus, right now it's the mighty Beethoven and his piano sonatas. This time I listen chronologically, with the score, then without. I used this forum to pick Annie Fischer's cycle as basis, that's why I started reading in here.

So, I'm yours, in anticipation..

Welcome to GMG.  You already pointed out the 17 CD reissue of Annie Fisher recordings for almost nothing.  This is mighty tempting.  She also did the Mozart PC very well and her Schumann is great too.

Welcome, Amore! (And another vote for Annie Fischer here, too.)

Welcome to the forum, nice with yet another Scandinavian member!

( Your avatar looks a bit like Skotte-Olsen, or Haugen Sørensen, or ... ? )

Thanks  :)

Thanks for noting my avatar, it's a detail from a Kirsten Bøggild painting, my only original. I need to find out how I make the avatar a bit smaller, though, I think it is max size right now.

Yours is by the 'other' Turner, right? It's a beautiful one - he did not paint many interiors, did he?

Unfortunately, we can't resize any of our avatars. Once you upload your avatar, it is automatically adjusted to whatever the forum is designed to do.
