Everyone needs to hear Epitaffio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0HkLcZKb6c), Nordheim's masterpiece.

I've heard it and my main reaction was 'meh'.

Well, thanks for trying.

Have you heard... Canzona (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQNy6re3GLg)?

I have not, but I'll have to give it a try at some point this weekend.

dreary? lol

forgive me if I get the vast swathe of sub-BIS Composers confused- Nordheim vs Norholm being the biggest...

Doesn't he have like 11 Symphonies? recommending a Canzona doesn't seem to bode well

Scandanavian (?) Composers just crawl out of the woodwork... if you let them!!!

and I like my dreary Scan landscapes as much as anyone, even anony

It is Nørholm who has symphonies, 13 of them.

I find Nordheim's style quite accessible now.
