Title: Does anyone know this piece?
Post by: dejarma on November 21, 2017, 01:07:24 PM
Please, it's been driving me crazy for over 50 years!

I'm 59 & heard this on TV accompanying a puppet act when I was around 6-8 years old. This melody is all I remember of it:

if someone can name this you'll make me very happy.

Thank you.

Any idea what the show's name was? Or do you remember the name (type, colour etc.) of the puppets?

Was it a movie or just a tv program? I have a few ideas but I need to narrow it down

Thanks very much for your interest. I was hoping someone would know on listening because I've googled it to death myself for the past 10 years & found nothing.

But to answer the questions:

I'm sure the TV show was 'Sunday night at the London palladium' or something similar at the time (mid sixties)

a string puppet on a park bench & a butterfly lands on his hand & dies. This piece of music is the saddest I've ever heard-- shame that was the only time ...

Again thanks peeps.

Hi,

try this: https://www.britishpuppetguild.org.uk/

Possibly someone will recognise the show/artist you describe. Eventually the music used....
