Title: Piano Concerto with a fugue cadenza
Post by: Kontrapunctus on April 26, 2018, 06:26:42 PM
I'm blanking on the name of a late Romantic composer who wrote a Piano Concerto with a fugue for a cadenza. Does anyone know his name? Thank you.

Thanks. I'll check out his two Concertos, but I don't think that's the name I had in mind.

Mandryka is right. Eugene d'Albert's piano concerto no.1 opus 2.

Fugue beginning at 37'30''

There must be more than one, then! The sad part is I'm fairly certain I own it. I don't own any d'Albert, so I guess I'll just have to comb through my collection until I find it.
