Where --- and why? --- did it all disappear?
Anyway, long live Kamala Harris, the 47th POTUS!

What? Joe died and they haven't reported it yet?

Joe is senile. Anyone claiming otherwise is claiming counterfactual facts.
I far prefer senility with a competent administration to delusion surrounded by sycophants.

You will have senility aplenty, that's for sure....
"This is my son Beau"...
"We have set up the most extensive and inclusive voters fraud network in the whole USA history..."
"I'm fully confident I'll beat Joe Biden"...
No shit Joe?
If the hope of the USA and of the world is a senile 77-yo guy beating a 74-yo non-senile guy, then the USA is a gerontocracy Soviet style.
Long live Kamala Harris!
My proposal for a new US politics thread title: "Biden His Time"
There will be an industry devoted to Biden gaffes, which are like the ones he's been putting out for decades plus a few more now that he's 77. We'll just have to get used to it, except me, I'm very used to it because I'm not from a foreign country.
Though I don't count myself as a Bidenist, he could surprise to the upside because he is one of the best networked politicians in the country. He has good relations with Mitch, and if Mitch burns that bridge he can pick off Repub stragglers. Obama never connected with Repubs, he was like Carter in floating above grubbly politics of the kind Biden excels at.

Can't disagree here. Which raises the point - if these are your best two candidates, where are the others?
Also, how can you be sure that this will be a 'competent' administration with someone you have classed as senile in charge?
Biden will be 78 this month (Nov). Would anyone in their right mind suggest a man of that age - who is none too sprightly for his age anyway - be put in charge of a major corporation or even a minor one? The whole thing is lunacy and I speak as a pensioner myself! Of course, he's probably just a shoe-in for Harris who will take over in a year or two when poor old Joe becomes incapable.

l didn't class him as senile, just replying to Florestans hypothetical assertion.
Congratulations to the real winner of this election, the state of Oregon, which successfully decriminalised all recreational drugs via ballot measure. I'm definitely moving there now because I'm badly in need of a four-year supply of LSD
Welcome to classical music board GMG.
We just HAVE to discuss American politics here, in an obscene and condescending way.
So please enjoy another great thread on this music board: "[...] it will be a shining example of political discourse, suitable for the entire Interwebs to admire and attempt to emulate." (moderator Gurn Blanston, May 28, 2020, in another popular and highly rated thread on this music board).
Bye bye.

Yes indeed, and Itry to stay away from all threads in the diner. I just found Florestans initial post so unsubstantiated and condescending to 75 million US voters that I had to make a comment. I hereby bow to Roumanias long tradition and insight into democatic traditions, processes and administrative structures, not to say expertise on medical conditions, particularly in people they've never met or examined, and will keep quiet.
I'm locking this thread untill we have decided as moderators how to go from here with any discussions on US Politics.
