Title: Shirley Verrett (1931 – 2010)
Post by: ando on January 28, 2024, 09:22:25 AM
There isn't much on the board about one of my favorite mezzos. (https://www.theguardian.com/music/2010/nov/08/shirley-verrett-obituary) So I thought I'd devote a thread just to her artistry, particularly after finding this VHS transfer on the Tube -

I've had that VHS for ages. Unfortunately I no longer have a player for it. She's also one of my favorite mezzos!

I hear you; I had her version of Lady Macbeth on VHS - the Chailly/Bologna production.

Played it so much I wore it out. Eventually bought a DVD replacement.  :)

I have the same one as well and a DVD replacement.

Wait a minute, we seem to be on the same wave length...
