She made some lovely recordings. I particularly enjoyed her Bach performances.
Sad news. May God rest her in peace.
I love her Bach and Chopin and currently I'm in the process of listening to her complete Clementi recordings.
A wonderful pianist... I love her
Bach and her
Scarlatti.
One of the discoveries I made in GMG years ago (thanks to
@Florestan ).
R.I.P.
Maria Tipo.
There was an old post here, I can't find it, I think it was from someone who called himself Ezodisi. He said that her Chopin nocturnes were remarkable because they were both moving and strong - lots of sentiment, but nothing wimpy. That seems right.
The last thing I heard from her was Op 109 and that's when Ezodisi's comments came to mind, because the same seemed true there.

I had forgotten that Nocturne set. Can't find it on Apple Music streaming, but still have it on my hard disk.

That's Tony.
Excellent fellow.
He used to live in London.

Well said.
RIP. Did she record Chopin Nocturnes a few times? Which recording (cd please) would any of you recommend?

I think this is her only recording of the complete Nocturnes but I'm not totally sure. These were recorded in 1993 but something at the back of my mind is suggesting an earlier vewrsion which someone (George I"m fairly sure) posted here on GMG. I hope he reads this post and can enlighten us.

i can let you have them if you want - there's only one as far as I know. The sound quality is pretty good, the interpretation is unique. There's a feeling of heaviness, I can't cash the metaphor. Suffice it to say that Ezodisi then liked it more than I do now, but I can certainly see it's worth checking out.

Yes, would you please help me on this recording? Thanks a lot.

I would suspect that it's also on Qobuz, Spotify or similar - I haven't checked.
