I had take a break from classical music, mainly because I started spending time learning some non-music things and so that was taking a lot of my time. I normally set aside a certain time every day for listing.
My interests are mainly the Romantic and Modern eras. I keep an eye out on new music that I haven't heard in the other eras.
I was just reading a thread where they were discussing how they got started listening to classical music. I first started listening to classical music about 20 years ago. (Wow! Time flies). I decided to start with Medieval and worked my way through to the Modern era. Based on suggestions on these forums I would purchase CD's as I went along and immerse myself in each era. I now have a collection from each era. That's good except the downside is that I have CD's that I almost never listen to. I'm not too disappointed about it though because I really enjoyed listening to it all. It was a great experience. Now, I'm ready to take up the journey again. Happy Listening to everyone!

Welcome!
Welcome back! I'm sure if you do discover any new medieval music people here would like to hear about it. 🥳
Welcome back to the forum! :)
Welcome. I didn't really know what to buy or who to listen to when I started listening to classical music (about 35 years ago, now), and didn't really know anyone to advise me. Good to hear your journey 🙂
Nowadays, I listen almost exclusively to music from the modern/contemporary era. I look forward to reading your posts.

Welcome! But why do you have George Washington for your avatar image?
;D
Welcome back! Do you prefer to listen to music on CDs only or are you open to say, digital or records?
Welcome back!

Sounds familiar. I've mostly landed in music written after 1900-ish, after a similar trajectory of collecting. I did ditch physical media in favour of streaming about 5 years ago, though, so now it's not filling up precious space!

Then why the username and avatar?
Welcome back!
I remember back in the day changing my handle to HaydnFan, which caused confusion because of haydnguy... and I think there might have been another poster that went by haydnfan??
