Title: Gabriel Erkoreka (born 1969)
Post by: Louis on September 12, 2025, 12:14:16 AM
Gabriel Erkoreka is a Spanish composer from the Basque country. He was born in Bilbao and is currently a professor for composition at the Basque Music Academy "MUSIKENE".

Some of his most famous famous works are his 4 Ballads for the Piano and his Cello concerto "EKAITZA".

Of course he wrote much more.

A German critic wrote his music balances between sensuality, timbre, and violence and I think this fits it very well.

I like the dramatic aspect of his music.

Several CDs of his music exist among others one of his solo piano music

Sounds interesting and like my cup of tea.  Will investigate.  Thanks for introducing.
