AGP86 features the music of Robert Wittinger, from a long out-of-print Wergo release. Wittinger was born in Austria and grew up in Hungary. He made a splash at Darmstadt and Donaueschingen in the late 1960s, but only a few of his works have been released on CD--some of which are now OOP. His compositional style is representative of that period. This installment features works for cello and orchestra, orchestra alone, cello/piano/percussion, and flute.

Enjoy!
Thanks so much for this!
I've never heard of Wittinger before this AGP release, but these pieces are really nice.
"Irreversibilitazione" for example: I don't recall enjoying a 'typical Darmstadt-type' piece so much at first hearing! It has a really nice 'flow', a kind of eloquence. Great.
Glad you like it! Yes, I've wondered why Wittinger didn't become more of a big thing. He was only in his mid-20's when that Wergo release was entirely dedicated to his works. But hey, I said it was typical of the era (late 60s)--not of the Darmstadt School. It's certainly not Le Marteau sans Maitre, is it?
